Performance Documentation, 20 min looped, DV/PAL, 2001.

The series Unser Stuckeln Arbiet (My Perfect Machine (2001), is a body of work that examines the complicated symbiotic relationship between machinery and the human body. Davida, a machine made of wood and iron, is based on the invention of the first Israeli mortar weapon while presenting a sarcastic picture of a father spanking his son’s behind. By exhibiting the brutal mechanism of the Zionist enterprise, which preaches the importance of sacrificing the body for the sake of an ideology, the myth is turned into a tool for self-pleasure, and the perfect machine into a fetish.

Installation view, Wood, Steel, Concrete, Moving parts, 2001.
